BIWABIC, Minn. - The Green Bay men's and women's Nordic ski teams competed in the first day of action at the NCAA Central Regional Championship Saturday. Both Phoenix teams finished fourth overall, with the men placing fourth out of nine teams while the women's field was 10 teams.

Sophomore skier Santi Ocariz continued his strong skiing in the freestyle technique, leading the Green Bay men with his sixth place finish in the 10K race in a time of 29:26.2. Craig Hertz also was a top 10 finisher for Green Bay, finishing eighth with his mark of 29:42.4.

On the women's side, Carolyn Freeman edged teammate Jenna Dickinson for 14th place, as the freshman posted a 17:14.9 time in the 5K event. Dickinson took 15th with a time of 17:16.5.
