WHAT TO KNOW
Green Bay All Time vs. Valparaiso
Green Bay owns a 20-13 all-time record against the Crusaders in a series that began in 1982.
The two schools were rivals in the Association of Mid-Continent Universities from 1982-90 and in the Mid-Continent Conference from 1991-94.
The Phoenix is 6-9 all time at Valparaiso.
Prior to this season, the two teams had not met since Dec. 22, 1998, a 77-50 Green Bay home win.
Green Bay has won nine of the last 12, 12 of the last 16 and 16 of the past 22 contests.
The two teams split the season series, with each team winning on its home court.
Valpo picked up an 82-73 home win over the Phoenix on Jan. 12.
The Last Meeting with Valparaiso
Green Bay erased a 16-point second-half deficit to defeat Valparaiso 76-71 in overtime at the Resch Center on Feb. 7.
It was Green Bay's ninth straight contest determined by single digits.
It was the first overtime game played by Green Bay since February of 2006.
Terry Evans led the Phoenix with 16 points, which tied a career high for the fourth time in five games, and hauled down 12 rebounds in the contest for his second double-double of the season.
Rahmon Fletcher scored all 14 of his points in the second half.
League Tournament History
The Phoenix has reached the semifinals of the past three Horizon League Tournaments (2005, 2006, 2007).
Green Bay owns a 13-12 all-time record in the HL Tournament.
Green Bay is 3-5 in Horizon League tourneys under Tod Kowalczyk.
The Phoenix last won a conference tournament championship in the 1995 campaign.
Beating the Buzzer and Excelling in Extra Time
Green Bay won two games in the month of February on shots with under three seconds to play in regulation and also was victorious in a pair of overtime tilts during the final month of the season.
At Detroit on Feb. 2, Cordero Barkley's lay-up with 2.4 ticks left gave Green Bay a 66-64 win.
Against UIC on Feb. 28, Troy Cotton drained a 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds remaining in a 76-73 home victory.
The Phoenix has also won a pair of games that went into overtime.
Green Bay's overtime wins were over Valparaiso, 76-71, on Feb. 7 and versus Loyola, 71-66, on March 1. Both games took place at the Resch Center.
The Race to 1,000
Green Bay assistant coach Dale Race will be on the sidelines for his 1,000th career game Tuesday when Green Bay plays Valparaiso.
Race began his coaching career at Milton College in 1972. He is a member of the UW-Oshkosh, Milton College and Minnesota-Duluth Halls of Fame.
