FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Green Bay men's golf team struggled through the final round of the IPFW Fall Classic at Deer Track Golf Course Tuesday, as the Phoenix fell to ninth place with a 14-over 298.
Travis Meyer (River Falls, Wis.) held on to his 13th place finish with a one-over 73 to finish with a three-round total of 212, one shot under par. No Green Bay player was able to break par during Tuesday's action.
Adam Austreng (Shawano, Wis.) posted a two-over 73 Tuesday to finish in a tie for 20th place at a one-over 214. Garrett Gosh (Pewaukee, Wis.) and Brady Mork (Menomonie, Wis.) each tied for 38th on the week.
Green Bay's Carson Solien (Madison, Wis.), who played the event as an individual, finished the event at even par to tie for 16th overall.
Detroit took the team title, edging Youngstown State by three strokes for the win. YSU's Ross Beal matched the course record eight-under 63 set by Loyola's Thomas Greene Monday to cruise to medalist honors, finishing with a 17-under 196.
The IPFW Fall Classic is the final intercollegiate competition for Green Bay until the spring season.
