Kris Johnson is her eighth season as an assistant for UW-Green Bay. Johnson assists in recruiting efforts along with administration, including coordination of summer camps, community involvement and team equipment and travel.

Since Johnson's arrival, the Phoenix has gone 173-48 with seven straight 20-win seasons along with seven regular season conference titles. The team has suffered just 11 losses at home over that time.

"I made the mistake of not recruiting Kris out of high school," said Kevin Borseth upon Johnson's hiring 1999. "I am not going to make the same mistake twice."

Prior to her arrival at UW-Green Bay, Johnson spent one season as a junior varsity coach for Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee. She also served as a camp coach at Marquette, Northern Michigan and the Wisconsin Coaches Scouting Service.

The 1998 first-team Kodak All-American had a stellar collegiate career at Northern Michigan University. A four-year starter, Johnson (then Manske) led the team in rebounding, assists, steals and three-point shooting as a senior as the Wildcats made their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Final Four.

Johnson was a two-time first-team all-GLIAC selection and gathered GLIAC Player of the Year and all-defensive team accolades as a senior. For her collegiate career, Johnson totaled 1,503 points, 676 rebounds, 391 steals, 680 assists and 130 three-pointers. Her steals total also ranks 11th in NCAA Division II history while her assists mark is 15th-best in the NCAA recordbooks. All five totals are in the top five all-time Northern Michigan ladders.

Johnson, 30, is a native of Muskego, Wis., and graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School. She and her husband, Dave, reside in Green Bay with their one-year-old son, Zachary.
