GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay women's basketball team (14-4, 6-1) recovered from its first Horizon League loss in 25 outings with its 78-52 win over Loyola Wednesday at the Kress Center. Green Bay improved to 8-1 at home with the win, the 31st straight victory over the Ramblers for the Phoenix.

Junior Erin Templin posted a game-high and career-best 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting while adding seven rebounds. Lavesa Glover missed her final shot of the game to finish with 16 points in a 7-of-8 effort from the field in 17 minutes of work.

Green Bay's advantage was points off turnovers, as the Phoenix capitalized on 31 Loyola miscues. During a key 11-0 first-half run, Green Bay forced five straight turnovers on steals and made good on seven Loyola turnovers in nine possessions. Thanks to the run, Green Bay boasted a 46-30 halftime lead, with 28 points off turnovers.

The Phoenix kept up the pressure to start the second half, scoring the stanza's first nine points as Loyola got no closer than 20 points the rest of the way. Green Bay would finish with 38 points of turnovers to Loyola's six and had a 40-16 advantage in points in the paint.

Green Bay pounded the offensive glass as well, nabbing a season-high 16 offensive caroms. Kayla Tetschlag led the way with five offensive boards and finished with a career-best 10 rebounds.

Rachel Porath, who struggled with a season-low five points, led Green Bay in other ways, notching game-bests of six assists and four steals.

Loyola (3-14, 1-5) was led by Keisha Collins' 16 points. Maggie McCloskey, who burned the Phoenix last season at the old PSC with 8-18 shooting from three-point range, started off hot with three straight treys, but did not score for the final 36 minutes of the game to finish with nine points.

Green Bay concludes its home stand against the Chicago contingent Saturday when the Phoenix hosts UIC at 7 p.m. The Flames enter Saturday's contest on a two-game winning streak after defeating Milwaukee Wednesday 62-59.
