Women's Basketball Closes Exhibition Slate With 91-54 Win Over Wisconsin AAU

GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay women's basketball team concluded the 2007-08 exhibition season Tuesday with a convincing 91-54 win over Wisconsin AAU at the Kress Center.

Rachel Porath (Luxemburg, Wis.) led all scorers with 16 points, while Morgan Faase (Green Bay, Wis.) came off the bench for 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Lavesa Glover (Miami, Fla.) just missed a double-double with a game-best 11 rebounds to go with nine points.

Green Bay jumped out of the blocks with the game's first points on a three-pointer by Porath in the game's first eight seconds. The hot start grew to a 28-2 advantage with 12:08 to play in the first half, and with a buzzer-beating put-back by Heather Golden (De Pere, Wis.) at the break, Green Bay boasted a 56-15 halftime lead.

The Phoenix took its largest lead on Erin Templin's (Richland Center, Wis.) layup with 16:31 to go in the game, as Green Bay led 64-20.

Each Green Bay player took the floor for at least 10 minutes, while 12 of the team's 13 players found the scoring column. The Phoenix also dominated on the boards, boasting a 54-35 advantage in rebounds, including 21 offensive caroms.

Kelly Leibham and Lesley Juedes led Wisconsin AAU with 14 points as just five players found the scoring column for the guests.

Green Bay begins the regular season Friday, Nov. 9 when it travels to Des Moines, Iowa, to take on Drake University for a 7:05 p.m. tip.
