GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay women's basketball team (3-2) had its 17-game home court winning streak halted Saturday afternoon as instate rival Marquette (4-2) muscled to a 60-48 win at the Kress Center.

The Phoenix forced 24 Marquette turnovers, but Green Bay could not overcome a dismal 30.8 shooting effort in the setback. Green Bay was also an uncharacteristic 4-9 from the free throw line, while Marquette was 14-16 from the charity stripe.

Lavesa Glover set a career high with 14 points, while Kayla Groh also tallied 14 points as the lone two Green Bay players in double figures.

Marquette's Krystal Ellis, who missed the last three games with a knee injury, returned to the starting lineup to lead the way with 21 points. Svetlana Kovalenko missed a double-double with eight points and a game-best 12 rebounds, as the Golden Eagles out-rebounded the Phoenix 53-32.

Green Bay took the early lead in the game, leading by as much as five points before its offense snagged while Marquette went on an 11-0 run to take a 15-9 lead with 8:29 to go. Green Bay would not get the lead again until a long three-pointer by Kati Harty gave the Phoenix a 39-36 advantage with 10:04 left.

Both teams swapped leads three more times before a 12-3 run by the Golden Eagles, capped by a baseline three-pointer by Erin Monfre, gave the guests a 52-44 lead with 2:35 to go in the contest. From there, Ellis went 7-8 from the line to seal the win.

After committing 13 turnovers in the first half and suffering through scoring droughts of seven and five minutes, respectively, Green Bay got back on track as the team had just two turnovers in the final 20 minutes. The Phoenix also had all four of its three-pointers in the second stanza, but could not hold off a late Marquette charge.

Green Bay wraps up its three-game home stand Wednesday, Dec. 5 with Kansas State at 7 p.m. before heading down state to take on Wisconsin Dec. 11 at the Kohl Center.
