GREEN BAY GAME DAY
This week's contests will air live on AM 1400 WDUZ "The Fan" in the Green Bay area, with Bruce VandenPlas on the call. Live audio is also available here.
For the first time this season, all five starters scored in double figures in the team's win over Southern Illinois Dec. 29, which led to the team's highest offensive output thus far this season. The quintet combined to shoot 66 percent from the field while all five had at least 10 field goal attempts. Normally a proficient team from three-point range, Green Bay adjusted from just making three three-pointers to dominate in the paint. For the second straight game, Green Bay had a player tally a double-double when Rachel Porath posted 17 points along with a team-best 10 rebounds against Southern Illinois Dec. 29. The double-double was the second of her career. She also added four assists and three steals in the game. Scouting Detroit: The Titans (2-8) closed out 2007 with a 55-40 setback at home against Toledo on Dec. 18, but rebounded with a victory over IPFW (62-52) on Dec. 21 to capture its first road win of the season.
Junior guard Zemora Davis paced Detroit with 10 points after a 5-of-11 showing from the field against Toledo. Sophomore guard Chanica Hall poured in a career-high 22 points in the Titans' win, which included a 9-of-13 outing at the line. Senior forward India Bruster grabbed a game-high 12 boards to post double-digits in rebounds for the third time this season.
Scouting Wright State: The Raiders (3-8) snapped a three-game slide with a thrilling 71-70 win over Evansville Dec. 21 in Dayton. Wright State will host Milwaukee Thursday before entertaining the Phoenix Saturday afternoon.
Leading the Raiders offensively is a quartet of players in double figures in scoring, paced by Sheylani Peddy and her 15.2 points per game. Whitney Lewis, who missed the first three games of the year, is chipping in 13.0 ppg.
