April 16, 2008
GREEN BAY, Wis. - Green Bay women's basketball coach Matt Bollant announced today the signing of Lory Shaw (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) to a National Letter of Intent. Shaw will be a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay for the fall, 2008. "Lory has great size and strength and she has the physical skills to be a very good player," said Bollant. "She is a great fit for Green Bay as she is a great student and an even better person. We are excited to have her coming to Green Bay." Shaw, a 6-2 forward/center, is coming off a senior season where Warren Township posted a 28-3 overall record and a No. 4 ranking by the Chicago Sun-Times in 2008. As a standout for the Blue Devils, Shaw was a three-year letterwinner and earned All-North Suburban Conference honors as a senior. She was also named an all-area performer by various local publications, including the Chicago Sun-Times. During her senior season, Shaw, who was prepped by John Stanczykiewicz, had seven double-doubles and was named an all-tournament team performer at the New Trier Thanksgiving Tournament. Also a standout in the classroom, Shaw is a member of the National Honor Society and earned all-academic honors. Shaw joins Hannah Quilling (Eau Claire, Wis./North) as signees to the Green Bay women's basketball team for the 2008-09 season. |
