Following a 10-day break from action, the Green Bay women's basketball team returns to the hardwood Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Northern Illinois for the team's long-awaited regular season home debut at the Kress Center. It is the start of a three-game home stand for the Phoenix.

Wednesday's contest will air live on AM 1400 WDUZ "The Fan" in the Green Bay area, with Bruce VandenPlas on the call. Live audio is also available here.

Phoenix Fast Fact: With Wednesday's game against Northern Illinois, Green Bay concludes a 10-day break from action. It's the longest break for the Phoenix since a 10-game spell at the end of the 2005-06 season when Green Bay awaited its WNIT contest with Iowa State March 16 after its March 5 game against UIC.

Scouting Green Bay: Green Bay battled hard Saturday afternoon in its third straight road game, overcoming an early double-figure deficit to Missouri State to post a 78-68 victory at the Hammons Student Center. Junior Rachel Porath led the way with a career-high 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range and just missed a double-double with a game-best nine rebounds. Kayla Groh added 15 points in the win while Lavesa Glover and Kati Harty each chipped in 12 points.

Junior Rachel Porath had a solid game against Missouri State Nov. 17, setting a career-high with 20 points for her first 20-point effort of her career, thanks in part to 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range. Porath also led Green Bay with nine rebounds, just missing her second career double-double, and posted a team-best three steals. She also handed out four assists in the win.

Junior Erin Templin recovered from a tough start to the season Thursday with her career-high setting game against Illinois State Nov. 15. Along with a career-best 13 points, Templin matched her career-high with four assists and just missed matching her all-time mark in rebounding, finishing with eight caroms to lead the team.

Scouting Northern Illinois: The Huskies wrap up a four-game road swing tonight when it faces the Phoenix. NIU is coming off a 50-42 loss at UIC Sunday night, their third straight setback of the season. In the game, Shari' Welton led the way with 14 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds. Kylie York, the Huskies' leading scorer this season, chipped in 10 points.

Longtime rivals of the North Star Conference, Mid-Continent Conference and the MCC from 1988-97, today marks the 25th time Green Bay and Northern Illinois will face off. The Huskies own a 13-11 all-time series lead, but Green Bay has been victorious in the last five games. In the last meeting between the two teams, Green Bay needed overtime to post a 73-67 win in DeKalb, Ill. during the 2005-06 season.
