Women's Golf Wraps up Day One of Loyola Caputo Invitational

MUNDELEIN, Ill. - The Green Bay women's golf team completed the first round of the five-team Caputo Invitational at Pine Meadow Golf Course (par 72, 6010 yards) on Monday. The Phoenix, which was forced to play one golfer short due to illness, finished the round in fifth place with a score of 409, 70 shots back from fourth-place IPFW.

Ellyn Hansen led the way for the Phoenix on day one by finishing tied for 15th place, shooting an 86 (+14). The freshman was tied for fourth place after the first nine holes, as she registered a 38.

Allison Winter was the team's second golfer, recording a 98 in the opening round, good for 29th place. Madaline Selig and Jessica Guzek rounded out the Phoenix golfers Monday, as they finished in 30th and 31st, respectively.

Green Bay is one of four Horizon League schools in the tournament. Youngstown State is in first place after day one, finishing with a 325. Loyola and Detroit are currently second and third.

The final round of the Caputo Invitational is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Pine Meadow Golf Course.
