GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay women's soccer team (2-15-0) heads to Loyola this weekend for the quarterfinal round of the 2007 Horizon League Championships when the two teams square off Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Phoenix looks to end a six-game losing streak and a two-game losing streak to Loyola. Green Bay also looks for its first league tournament win since the 2004 season. The two teams are becoming quite familiar with each other, facing one another for the third time in five seasons in the Horizon League Championship.

Sophomore defender Amanda Stinson (Green Bay, Wis.) was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District V First Team earlier this week. Off the field, Stinson has accumulated a perfect 4.0 grade-point average, while on the field she is also tied for second on the team in scoring with three goals for six points. Stinson's first-team selection marks the third time in as many years that a Green Bay player was named to the district's first squad.

Senior Lotte Rasmussen (Samsoe, Denmark) and freshman Laura Hayward (Green Bay, Wis.) received Horizon League honors, with both players being named to the second team all-Horizon League. Rasmussen led the Phoenix in scoring with four goals for eight points, with a pair of two-goal games against Youngstown State and Wright State. Hayward started all 17 games this season and tallied an assist in Green Bay's win over Youngstown State Oct. 5. Hayward and fellow freshman Chelsea Lyons (Coon Rapids, Minn.) earned all-newcomer team honors.

A pair of Phoenix players notched their first goals of the season during Green Bay's road trip last week to South Carolina. Freshman Sam Schiro (Racine, Wis.) scored her first collegiate goal against Francis Marion in Green Bay's 3-1 loss, while Senior Jennie Gorwitz (Appleton, Wis.) notched her first goal of the season in a heart-breaking 2-1 double overtime loss to Winthrop.

Senior goalkeeper Brooke Wikgren moved into second place in team history with 306 career saves after an eight save game against Winthrop. Wikgren also is among the top all-time Phoenix goalkeepers in career shutouts, and goals-against average.
