Joseph Goodson joined Green Bay during Feburary 2007 after most recently serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Georgia Tech.

He previously held the same position at the University of Georgia and has been heavily involved at the club level, serving as an assistant coach and head coach for a variety of teams with the Atlanta Juniors Volleyball Club.

"Joseph has a passion for the game," said Green Bay head coach Debbie Kirch. "His knowledge of the sport is outstanding and he has already demonstrated a huge commitment to our student-athletes."

As an assistant with Green Bay, Goodson is in charge of working with the defense and middle blockers as well as opponent scouting and recruiting.

Goodson is a 1986 graduate of Berry College in Georgia where he majored in biology, psychology and physical education. He earned his master's degree from the United States Sports Academy in sports medicine in 1989.

He served as an assistant athletic trainer at Emory University for 6 1/2 years while also serving as the head men's club coach for one season. He then moved on to the University of Georgia for one year before heading to Morehouse College where he was the head athletic trainer for the 5 1/2 years.

Goodson is single and is the second-oldest of five children. His siblings include Theresa, June (husband - John), Michael and Michelle (husband - Kenny). He has one niece, Lauryn, and two nephews, Zachary and Joshua.
