GREEN BAY, Wis. - Green Bay Athletics, long known for its success both on the court and in the classroom, displayed its strength once again as the Horizon League Fall All-Academic teams were announced today. Eight Green Bay student-athletes were honored by the league, including at least one representative on each of the five teams.

Green Bay was one of just two teams to have a representative on all five squads, along with Horizon League newcomer Valparaiso. The Phoenix finished with the second-most honorees overall, trailing Milwaukee's nine selections.

In men's soccer, junior defender Tyler Rosenberg (Grafton, Wis.) and sophomore Ilya Ksenidi (West Allis, Wis.) earned their first-ever academic accolades from the Horizon League. Rosenberg, a business administration major, finished the year tied for third on the team in scoring with 10 points on two goals and six assists. Ksenidi, a reserve forward, took the field in 21 matches, firing 10 shots in 2007.

Two Green Bay women's soccer standouts were honored to the elite squad in Lotte Rasmussen (Samsoe, Denmark) and Amanda Stinson (Green Bay, Wis.). Rasmussen, a two-time honoree after earning accolades in 2006, is a psychology major and led the team in scoring with four goals this fall. Stinson, who also was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree earlier this season, is a human biology major who was second on the team with three goals in 2007.

Volleyball's Betty Slinger (Faribault, Minn.) became one of four Horizon League student-athletes in the fall award winners to be a three-time honoree, while fellow Phoenix Rochelle Meulemans (Kaukauna, Wis.) earned her first-ever academic honor from the league. A human biology major, Slinger led the Phoenix in assists and attack percentage; Meulemans, a biology major, paced the Phoenix in service aces and was fourth on the team in digs.

Senior cross country standout Ryan Miller (Mequon, Wis.) capped his collegiate career with academic all-Horizon League honors. Miller was Green Bay's top finisher in every race this season while working on a degree in communication and the arts.

On the women's side, Erin Stache (Hilbert, Wis.) was a repeat honoree as a senior after being named to the league's elite academic team as a junior. Stache boasts a 3.909 grade point average in chemistry.

Each Academic All-Horizon League team has an equal number of representatives as the program's respective first-team all-league squad. Honorees are selected by sports information directors and faculty athletics representatives of the 10 Horizon League institutions.
